I love Halloween.
But, I know it's not one of the top "card sending" holidays. I don't even think it breaks the top 10. So, if you don't want to invest in a stamp set you won't use often, then I have a project perfect for you.
Can you think of a stamp set name less likely to be associated with Halloween than "Choose Happiness?" Well, guess what . . .
Oh yeah! There's a "raven!" And though you can't see it clearly in the photo, I stamped the filigree leaves over the Blackberry Bliss stripe to add a "web" effect. It really looks cool.
Of course the background is what makes it. I inked the inside of the embossing folder with Night of Navy and then placed my Very Vanilla cardstock on the side I didn't ink (that's so I can decide the exact placement I want and move it around without smudging). Don't worry if you get ink on the trees. I think it adds to the cool "shadowy" effect.
I also layered a Gold Foil piece punched with the Scallop Oval Punch under the sentiment along with the new Gold Cording Trim to add the necessary sparkle to contrast against the dark spooky night scene. A little more bling in the top right corner was made with the Gold Foil (again) and the Confetti Stars Punch. The new Fine-Tip Glue Pen is the perfect tool for adhering those little stars. I LOVE this pen! I already have so many uses for it like sequins, thinlits and other teensy tiny embellishments.
I hope this inspired you to see what you have in new ways! Thanks for stopping!
Remember that if you put in an order using this hostess code (3UZZYD7U) by Friday 9/18, I will send you Monday's featured project!
Have fun playing and until next time, Stay Crafty!
