Memorial Day Memory

Good morning!

I want to share a photo of my grandma from Memorial Day yesterday. This crazy beautiful lady will be 90 in October. One of my favorite grandma stories is when she was a riveter for the bombers in WWII. She had the onerous chore of climbing into the wings of the bombers and attaching the bolts. She says the heat would get so intense because the metal would act like an oven. Once, she was in the wing and the heat caused her to pass out. As she did, she fell deeper into the wing and scraped her hands on the way down. The metal tore off the outer skin of her hands and, to this day, she has no fingerprints.

As if that weren't enough, the area she fell into was so tight that no one could go in to retrieve her, so they left her there until she woke up on her own. She still tells this story with a laugh.

Love you, Grandma!
